Surgery Choices: Access to surgery quickly

Waiting for a surgical procedure can be a stressful and expensive time for your clients and their employees, sometimes resulting in long periods of absence from work.

Surgery Choices is available to purchase as an add on benefit in conjunction with the Foresight plan. This innovative, ground breaking product covers your client’s employees for 60 different surgical procedures (normally classed by the NHS as non-urgent) including:

Cataracts
Gall stones
Varicose veins
Slipped discs
Hip replacement
Knee problems
Hernias

For just an extra £1.24 per employee, per week, you can now give your client's staff the reassurance that if they are unable to obtain speedy access to NHS treatment, they can access treatment quickly through a Surgery Choices fixed price treatment package**. Helping your client's to get their key staff back to work!

If an employee is assessed as unsuitable for a private treatment package or would prefer NHS treatment, the employer is given a cash lump sum to help compensate for their possible increased absence from work.

Each surgical procedure is classified according to its medical complexity.

Surgical Procedure Classification	Private Treatment Package	Employer NHS Benefit
BAND A	Up to £3,000	£500
BAND B	Up to £6,000	£1,500
BAND C	Up to £10,000	£2,500

Private Treatment Package is the maximum amount available for sourcing a treatment package for private surgery. NHS benefit is the amount of money payable to you, the employer, should the surgical procedure be performed through the NHS.

* Surgery Choices cover cannot be purchased independently of the Foresight Healthcare Plan and is only available on a corporate paid basis. Cover is available for 10 employees or more and must be either for all employees or for a specified category of employee at our discretion.
