Chamber Primary Health Plan - Surgery Choices module

Additional module: Surgery Choices: Access to surgery quickly

Waiting for a surgical procedure can be a stressful and expensive time for you and your staff, sometimes resulting in a long absence from work.

For just an extra £1.24* per employee per week, you can provide your staff with Surgery Choices cover. Your employees will be covered for 60 non-urgent surgical procedures for conditions such as:

  • Gallstones
  • Slipped discs
  • Hip replacement
  • Prostate problems
  • Hernias
  • Varicose veins

If an employee is unable to obtain speedy access to treatment on the NHS, they can access private treatment quickly with their Surgery Choices cover - giving them the choice and control over their healthcare and helping you get your key staff back to work quicker!

How does it work?
  • Up to 3 operations per employee in any consecutive 12 month period
  • Up to £100,000 per employee during the lifetime of their cover
  • No medical required
  • Immediate cover for new conditions**
  • Premiums are not age related
  • Low P11D cost
NHS and private treatment covered

If an employee is assessed as unsuitable for a private treatment or prefers NHS treatment, the employer is given a cash lump sum to help compensate for any possible increased absence from work.

Each surgical procedure is classified according to its medical complexity.
Surgical Procedure Classification Private Treatment Package Employer NHS Benefit
BAND A Up to £3,000 £500
BAND B Up to £6,000 £1,500
BAND C Up to £10,000 £2,500

Private Treatment Package is the maximum amount available for sourcing a treatment package for private surgery. NHS benefit is the amount of money payable to you, the employer, should the surgical procedure be performed through the NHS.

* Surgery Choices cover cannot be purchased independently of the Chamber Plan and is only available on a corporate paid basis. Cover is available for 10 employees or more. You can provide the Chamber Plan with Surgery Choices for a specific group of employees and provide all other employees with the Chamber Plan only.

**Pre-existing medical conditions are excluded.

Please refer to the Surgery Choices Policyholder leaflet, Section 3, Private Treatment – How does a fixed price treatment package work?
